ASTM A240 stainless steel 321 plate is a stabilized version of 304 stainless steel. It also contains titanium as a stabilizing element, i.e., a 18/8 nickel-chromium mixture tempered with titanium, to prevent intergranular corrosion that may occur after heat treatment. S32100 can be used at temperatures between 800 and 1500°F, such as furnaces, burner components, and heat exchangers. SS 321 grade stainless steel plates are welded using conventional welding methods, such as TIG welding, MIG welding, etc.
