SS254SMO pipe exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in high chloride ion and acidic media. It can withstand seawater, aeration, crevice corrosion, and low-speed erosion environments, demonstrating outstanding resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion (PI ≥ 40). It also shows strong resistance to both reducing and oxidizing acids such as sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and acetic acid.

The low carbon and high nitrogen design eliminates the risk of intergranular corrosion at high temperatures or after welding. It maintains a stable passive state even in 15% high-concentration chloride ion acidic solution (pH=1.5, 40℃), with a passive current density of only 0.022 mA/cm², far superior to 2205 duplex stainless steel.

For cold working, it can be formed using processes such as stretching, bending, flaring, and flanging. Although its strength is higher than 316L, resulting in slightly increased processing difficulty, it can still meet the manufacturing requirements of complex structures.

Welding can be performed using conventional methods such as TIG, MIG, and laser welding. 6mo Pipe is recommended to use ERNiCrMo-3 high-nickel alloy filler material. No special heat treatment is required after welding to maintain corrosion resistance.

Hot working should be performed in the temperature range of 950-1150℃, followed by rapid cooling to optimize performance.
