ASTM A789 UNS S32205 Tube is a duplex steel grade with a ferrite-austenite microstructure. Duplex 2205 has excellent resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion compared to 317L stainless steel. Alloy 2205 has excellent corrosion resistance to seawater and most concentrations of sulfuric acid. In addition, UNS S32205 resists sulfide stress corrosion cracking in sour gas environments.
