alloy c22 pipe physical properties
The physical properties of Hastelloy C22 pipes form the basis of their excellent performance in heat exchange and high-temperature applications. The alloy has a density of 8.69 g/cm³, which is between conventional austenitic stainless steel (7.9 g/cm³) and pure nickel (8.9 g/cm³). This moderate density ensures structural strength while avoiding excessive bulkiness of the equipment. Its melting point range is 1357-1399°C, which is higher than most stainless steels, allowing it to maintain structural stability in high-temperature environments.
hast. c22 thermal performance
In terms of thermal performance, the thermal expansion coefficient of C22 is 11.2-12.5 μm/m·°C in the range of 20-100°C, which is similar to carbon steel. This feature is particularly important when connecting dissimilar materials to reduce thermal stress problems. However, its thermal conductivity is low, about 10.1-11.1 W/m·K, which is only about 1/4 of carbon steel.
uns n06022 pipe mechanical properties
In terms of mechanical properties, solid solution C22 pipes show a balance between high strength and good plasticity. Its typical mechanical properties include: tensile strength ≥ 690MPa, yield strength ≥ 283MPa, elongation ≥ 40%. Compared with C276 alloy, C22 has a strength of about 10% higher while maintaining considerable ductility, which gives it a clear advantage in high-pressure pipeline systems.

hastelloy n06022 High temperature strength
High temperature strength is one of the outstanding advantages of C22 pipes. In the temperature range of 650-850°C, its yield strength decreases significantly less with increasing temperature than ordinary stainless steel, and even abnormal strength increases in a specific temperature range. C22 pipes also perform well in low temperature environments. Under deep cold conditions of -200°C, its impact toughness remains good and there is no tendency to brittle transformation.
astm c22 Work hardening characteristics
The cold work hardening characteristics of C22 pipes require special attention. Compared with 304 stainless steel, its work hardening index is about 30% higher, and the hardness can be quickly increased to above HRC35 after cold deformation. This characteristic requires special consideration in pipe bending. When the cold bending deformation exceeds 15%, intermediate annealing (1150-1175℃ rapid cooling) must be performed to avoid micro cracks caused by excessive hardening.
Application of n06022 tube
Oil and gas: submarine pipelines, downhole tools for acid gas wells.
Chemical equipment: sulfuric acid reactors, phosphoric acid evaporators, pickling equipment.
Nuclear industry: containers and pipelines for nuclear waste treatment systems.
