Nickel Alloy B-3 Fabrication
The low carbon content allows B3 alloy to be used in the welded condition. 2.4660 Material can be hot worked by forging, provided it is held at 2250°F long enough for the entire part to reach temperature. Nickel Alloy B3 can also be formed by cold working. Oxyacetylene and submerged arc welding processes are not recommended when the fabricated items are to be used in corrosive service.
