Alloy B2 is a nickel-molybdenum alloy that is essentially free of chromium, an element common to almost all other corrosion resistant alloys. Hastelloy B2 Material's high nickel and molybdenum content gives it excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid and reducing environments such as high temperatures. Alloy B2 Seamless Pipe is preferred because they have a pressure resistance that is nearly 20% higher than welded pipes and the absence of longitudinal welds eliminates vulnerability to intergranular corrosion. The increased carbon content in Ni SB 622 N10665 ensures better heat resistance.
