Hastelloy B2 Tube Chemical Composition

Nickel (Ni, balance) as base element, Molybdenum (Mo, 26-30%) as core corrosion-resistant element, Fe ≤2.0%, Cr ≤1.0%, C ≤0.02%, Si ≤0.10%, Mn ≤1.0%, Co ≤1.0%, P ≤0.04%, S ≤0.03%. Low C and Si content inhibits carbide precipitation in weld heat-affected zone, ensuring uniform corrosion resistance.

WNR.2.4617 tube Physical Properties

Density 9.2 g/cm³, Melting point 1330-1380℃, Thermal conductivity 11.1 W/(m·K) (100℃), Linear expansion coefficient 10.3×10⁻⁶/℃ (20-100℃), Room temperature resistivity 1.37 micro-ohm-meter. These properties ensure adaptability in high-temperature and thermal cycle environments.

Tensile strength ≥760 MPa (110 ksi), Yield strength (0.2% offset) ≥350 MPa (51 ksi), Elongation ≥40%, Hardness ≤HRB 100. Seamless tubes have yield strength ≥310 MPa and elongation ≥40%, with good hot/cold formability. Note that it has high work hardening rate, requiring intermediate annealing during cold processing.

Hastelloy B2 Tube Corrosion Resistance

Hastelloy B2 tube excels in reducing media, especially non-oxidizing acids (hydrochloric, sulfuric, phosphoric, acetic acid) with annual corrosion rate <0.1 mm in boiling 20% hydrochloric acid, superior to ordinary stainless steel. It resists chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking and pitting. Not suitable for oxidizing media or reducing media with oxidizing contaminants (Fe³⁺, Cu²⁺), which may cause premature corrosion.
