Chemical composition of Alloy C22 plate

The chemical composition of Hastelloy C22 is based on nickel (Ni) (about 56%), with molybdenum (Mo, 13%), chromium (Cr, 22%), tungsten (W, 3%) and a small amount of iron (Fe, 3%), cobalt (Co, 2.5%) and other elements added.

Broad-spectrum corrosion resistance of UNS N06022 Plate

High molybdenum content enhances tolerance to reducing media (such as hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid), while chromium forms a stable passivation film in oxidizing environments (such as nitric acid and chlorine-containing solutions).

 

Localized corrosion resistance of Hastelloy C22 Plate

By precisely controlling the carbon (C) content (≤0.015%) and adding tungsten, the risk of intergranular corrosion, pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion is significantly reduced, especially in high-temperature chlorine-containing environments.

 

Wide adaptability of Hastelloy N06022 Plate

In mixed acid, wet chlorine, seawater and media containing chlorides and sulfides, its performance far exceeds that of ordinary stainless steel (such as 316L) and other nickel-based alloys (such as Inconel 625).

Cold processing of N06022 sheet 

large radius molds are required to avoid cracking. Annealing treatment (heating to 1120-1170°C and rapid cooling) is recommended after processing to eliminate residual stress.

 

Welding process of Hastelloy C22 plate

It is recommended to use tungsten inert gas welding (GTAW) or plasma arc welding (PAW), and use ERNiCrMo-10 welding wire. During welding, the interlayer temperature must be strictly controlled (≤150°C), and the purity of the shielding gas must be ensured (argon ≥99.995%) to prevent weld oxidation.
