chemical composition of Alloy C276 plate

The chemical composition of N10276 is based on nickel (Ni). The main alloying elements include molybdenum (Mo, 15.0%-17.0%), chromium (Cr, 14.5%-16.5%), iron (Fe, 4.0%-7.0%) and tungsten (W, 3.0%-4.5%), and contains a small amount of cobalt (Co, ≤2.5%), manganese (Mn, ≤1.0%) and carbon (C, ≤0.01%).

Physical properties of Hastelloy C276 hot rolled plate

The density of N10276 plate is about 8.89 g/cm³, and the melting point is between 1323°C and 1371°C. Its thermal conductivity is 10.1 W/(m·K) at 20°C, its resistivity is 1.30 μΩ·m, and its linear expansion coefficient (20°C-100°C) is 11.2×10⁻⁶/°C. These physical properties enable it to maintain structural stability in high temperature environments, while having moderate thermal and electrical conductivity, making it suitable for scenarios requiring heat exchange or electrical isolation.

Mechanical properties of hastelloy N10276 Plate

At room temperature, the typical tensile strength of N10276 sheet is ≥690 MPa, the yield strength (0.2% offset) is ≥283 MPa, the elongation is ≥40%, and the hardness is usually ≤100 HRB. Its high-temperature mechanical properties are outstanding. High ductility and moderate hardness make it easy to cold form (such as stamping and bending), while meeting the strength requirements of high-voltage equipment.

Corrosion resistance ASTM SB 575 Hastelloy c276 sheet

N10276's corrosion resistance is its core advantage, especially in mixed acid, halide and oxidation-reduction alternating environments. For example, in 70% sulfuric acid, 20% hydrochloric acid and chloride-containing wet phosphoric acid, its corrosion rate is significantly lower than that of conventional stainless steel. In addition, the material is extremely resistant to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) caused by chloride ions.

Manufacture Process

Hot working is recommended to be carried out between 1177°C-1232°C, followed by rapid cooling to avoid precipitation of impurities; the amount of deformation needs to be controlled during cold working, and staged annealing is recommended for complex forming (annealing temperature is usually 1121°C). TIG or MIG process is recommended for welding, and ERNiCrMo-4 welding wire is selected. Solution treatment is required after welding to eliminate sensitization of the heat-affected zone.
