Alloy 601 Pipe
1. Standard: ASTM B163, ASME SB163, ASTM B167, ASME SB167, ASTM B474, ASME SB474
2. Diameters: 0.1- 1219.2 mm
3. Wall thickness: 0.1 to 25mm
4. Length: SRL, DRL and Customized
Alloy 601 pipe has a very high chromium content (about 25%) and has aluminum added to form a tightly adherent oxide scale that resists spalling even under thermal cycling. The outstanding characteristics of the 601 alloy are its resistance to high temperature oxidation and good creep and rupture strength. Inconel 601 seamless pipe is either annealed at around 2000°F or solution treated at around 2100°F. This enhances the high temperature strength of nickel alloy 601.
Inconel 601 pipe standard:
- ASTM B167: specification covers nickel-chromium-iron alloys (UNS N06600, N06601, N06603, N06690, N06693, N06025, N06045, and N06696) in cold-worked annealed, hot-worked annealed, and hot-finished seamless pipe and tube
- ASTM B474: Standard Specification for Electric Fusion Welded Nickel and Nickel Alloy Pipe
- ASTM B163: Standard Specification for Seamless Nickel and Nickel Alloy Condenser and Heat-Exchanger Tubes

Alloy 601 Welded Pipe Solution Treatment
- 1. Solution Treatment: For Inconel 601, the typical solution treatment process involves heating the material to a temperature of approximately 2100°F (1150°C) to 2250°F (1230°C) and holding it at that temperature for a period of time.
- 2. Rapid Cooling: After the Inconel 601 UNS N06601 material is held at the solution treatment temperature for an appropriate period of time, it is rapidly cooled.
- 3. Age Hardening (Optional): ASME SB-167 N06601 pipe can be age hardened, which involves further heat treatment at lower temperatures to enhance its mechanical properties.
