Alloy 625 pipe is a non-magnetic, corrosion-resistant, oxidation-resistant nickel-chromium-based solid solution hardened wrought high temperature alloy. Inconel 625 is extremely resistant to a variety of exceptionally severe corrosive environments, including high temperature corrosion effects such as carburization and oxidation. Due to the solid solution of refractory Co and Mo in the nickel-chromium matrix, 2.4856 alloy 625 has excellent strength and toughness in the high temperature range down to 2000°F (1093°C).

Advantages of Nickel Alloy 625
- Resistant to pitting, crevice and intergranular corrosion;
- Resistant to stress corrosion cracking caused by chlorides;
- Good corrosion resistance to acids (such as nitric acid, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid) and alkalis
- Good processing and welding properties;
- Resistant to stress corrosion in salt spray atmosphere;
Inconel 625 Heat Treatment Two Grades:
- Inconel 625 Grade 1 annealed material, for annealed heat-treated N06625 Grade 1 alloy (annealed ≥ 871°C/1600°F), is typically used at service temperatures up to 1100°F (593°C). Nickel 625 has a minimum tensile strength of 827 Mpa (120 ksi), a minimum yield strength of 414 Mpa 60 ksi, and a minimum elongation of 30%.
- Inconel 625 Grade 2 solution annealed, TS 690 MPa (100 ksi) minimum, YS 276 MPa (40ksi) minimum, elongation 30% minimum. Nickel 625 pipe is typically used where operating temperatures are above 1100°F (593°C) and creep and fracture resistance are required.
