Chemical composition of Inconel 625
The chemical composition of Alloy 625 is mainly nickel (Ni) (accounting for about 58%-63%), and performance optimization is achieved by adding key elements such as chromium (Cr, 20%-23%), molybdenum (Mo, 8%-10%), and niobium (Nb, 3.15%-4.15%).
Physical and mechanical properties of alloy 625
The typical tensile strength of Alloy 625 tube at room temperature can reach more than 830 MPa, the yield strength exceeds 410 MPa, and the elongation is about 30%, showing excellent plasticity and toughness. Its density is about 8.44 g/cm³, and its melting point is between 1290-1350℃. In high temperature environment (such as below 650℃), the alloy can still maintain high creep resistance.

Corrosion resistance of inconel N06625 pipe
In oxidizing media (such as nitric acid and concentrated sulfuric acid), the passivation effect of chromium makes its corrosion resistance better than most stainless steels, in reducing environments (such as hydrochloric acid and phosphoric acid), the combination of molybdenum and nickel effectively resists local corrosion (such as pitting and crevice corrosion).
High temperature performance of Inconel 2.4865 pipe
In the high temperature field, inconel 625 pipe can maintain structural stability for a long time below 980℃. Its high temperature strength mainly comes from the solid solution strengthening effect of molybdenum and niobium, and the precipitation strengthening of γ'' phase (Ni₃Nb).
Manufacturing Processing of Inconel N06625 tube
The manufacturing of Alloy 625 pipe involves precise hot and cold processing technology. Hot extrusion or hot rolling process is usually carried out at 1150-1200℃, followed by solution treatment (water quenching at about 1100℃) to eliminate processing stress and optimize grain structure. The deformation should be controlled during cold processing to avoid excessive hardening, and intermediate annealing can restore the plasticity of the material.
welding of Alloy N06625 pipe
The alloy 625 can be welded by TIG, MIG or laser welding, but matching ERNiCrMo-3 welding wire should be selected, and the interlayer temperature should be strictly controlled (recommended to be below 150℃) to prevent grain coarsening in the heat-affected zone.
Application of alloy 625 pipe
Marine Engineering: High-pressure pipelines, subsea valves and submarine pressure hulls for seawater desalination systems.
Chemical Equipment: Manufacture of sulfuric acid regeneration devices and evaporator pipelines for the chlor-alkali industry.
Aerospace: As fuel pipes and exhaust system components for aircraft engines.
Nuclear Energy Field: Used in coolant pipelines and spent fuel processing equipment for nuclear reactors.
