ASME SB 168 UNS N06600 Annealing and Heat Treatment
1. Annealing
- Reducing internal stresses, improving workability and toughness, and increasing resistance to intergranular corrosion.
- Heating temperature: The recommended heating temperature is 925°C to 1,150°C (1,700°F to 2,100°F).
- Housing time: 10 minutes to 1 hour.
- Cooling method: Rapid cooling, usually air cooling or water quenching
2. Solution treatment (Solution Annealing)
- Restore the alloy's high temperature oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance.
- Heating temperature: Typical temperatures for solution treatment are 1,040°C to 1,100°C (1,900°F to 2,000°F).
- Cooling method: Rapid cooling, usually water quenching.
