AMS 5596 Inconel 718 Heat Treatment

Solution Annealing: Inconel 718 is first heated to a suitable temperature. This is usually done at about 1700°F (927°C), followed by rapid cooling.
Age Hardening: First, it is aged in the medium temperature range (about 1300°F or 704°C) to promote precipitation of the hardening phase. It is then re-aged at a higher temperature (about 1550°F or 843°C) to continue to optimize the material's properties.
