1. Excellent Corrosion Resistance
254SMO (6MO) stainless steel has extremely high resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride ion environments. Its critical pitting temperature (CPT) exceeds 55°C, and its critical crevice corrosion temperature (CCT) is usually above 40°C, which is better than conventional stainless steel (304/316).
2. Mechanical Properties

3. Good Welding Performance
1.4547 SS 254SMO has a carbon content of less than 0.02%. It can be welded using conventional welding processes (such as TIG, MIG).
