1.4562, also known as Alloy 31 or N08031, is a highly alloyed austenitic stainless steel (that is also categorized as a nickel-based alloy) with excellent corrosion resistance and high mechanical strength. It is designed for use in highly aggressive environments and offers superior resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. 1.4562 stainless steel is often used in industries such as chemical processing, petrochemical, and oil and gas.
