ASTM A240 UNS S31700 plate is a molybdenum-containing low carbon austenitic stainless steel with more chromium, nickel and molybdenum added for better resistance to corrosion and chemical attack by acids. Stainless Steel 317L Sheets (UNS S31703) are not magnetic in the annealed condition but may be slightly magnetic after welding. Its chemical composition and physical properties make it ideal for use in petrochemical, marine engineering and chemical industry equipment.
