Features of astm hastelloy x sheet 

High-Temperature Strength: Hastelloy X has high mechanical strength at extreme temperatures up to 1200°C. This ability can help it to resist rapid softening and failure due to high temperatures.

Oxidation Resistance: The Hastelloy UNS N06002 Plate's high chromium content of 21-23% enables it to form a dense, strongly adherent chromium oxide (Cr₂O₃) protective film at high temperatures, protecting it from persistent oxidative corrosion effectively.

Resistance to Reducing Atmospheres: The high molybdenum content (8-10%) provides excellent resistance to reducing media, such as sulfur-containing gases.

Formability and Weldability: As a solution-supplied sheet, Hastelloy X sheet shows its excellent ductility and toughness, making it easy to form using both cold and hot working methods. It also has excellent weldability, allowing for joining using common welding methods (such as TIG and MIG), with low post-weld crack susceptibility.

Manufacture process of alloy n06002 plate

Cold Forming: Hastelloy UNS N06002 Plate can be subjected to shearing, stamping, and bending. However, it should be noted that its work hardening rate is very rapid, so during deep drawing or severe bending, an intermediate annealing treatment may be required to restore the material's plasticity and prevent cracking. Large-radius dies are recommended, and excessive deformation should be avoided.

Hot Forming: Hot forming is a preferred option for parts with complex shapes or large deformations. Typical hot working temperatures range from 1175°C to 1230°C. Rapid cooling (such as water quenching) is recommended after completion to ensure the material remains in the optimal solution state and maximize corrosion resistance.

Welding: Hastelloy UNS N06002 Plate exhibits excellent weldability. Recommended welding methods include argon-arc welding (GTAW/TIG welding) and metal-metal arc welding (SMAW). Suitable welding consumables (such as Hastelloy X wire or rod) should be selected, and heat input and interpass temperature should be strictly controlled during welding to avoid coarsening of grains or thermal cracking. Post-weld heat treatment is generally not required.
