Inorganic acids: Excellent performance in sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and hydrochloric acid (especially at moderate concentrations and temperatures), far exceeding stainless steel and ordinary nickel-based alloys.

Mixed oxidizing/reducing media: Excellent stability in complex acids containing both oxidizing (such as Fe³⁺, Cu²⁺) and reducing (such as H₂S) ions.

Wet chlorine and hypochlorite: Excellent resistance in chlorine-containing environments such as pulp bleaching and water treatment.

The extremely high PREN value (pitting equivalent number > 69) makes it almost free of pitting and crevice corrosion in high-temperature aqueous solutions, seawater, and acidic oil and gas environments rich in halogen ions such as Cl⁻, Br⁻, and F⁻, which is one of its core advantages. This is the fatal weakness of 304/316 stainless steel and even some duplex steels.
