Manufacturing Process of alloy 718 sheet

Vacuum Melting: A dual process of vacuum induction melting (VIM) followed by vacuum consumable remelting (VAR) significantly eliminates impurities and gases, resulting in an ingot of exceptionally uniform and pure composition.
Forging and Rolling: The ingot undergoes high-temperature forging to break down the as-cast structure. It is then rolled into plate of the desired thickness through multiple passes of hot rolling (sometimes combined with cold rolling). Multiple intermediate anneals are required to eliminate work hardening.
Heat Treatment: The final heat treatment (solution + aging) is the finishing touch that unlocks the full potential of the material and is performed according to strict specifications to ensure uniform and reproducible properties.
