Features of inconel 601 sheet

High-temperature oxidation resistance: It can withstand continuous service in air up to approximately 1250°C and remains intact under cyclic oxidation conditions up to approximately 1100°C.
Carburization resistance: It effectively resists carbon intrusion and embrittlement in carburizing atmospheres rich in carbon monoxide and methane.
High-temperature strength: It maintains high mechanical strength at high temperatures and exhibits excellent creep and stress-rupture resistance.
Corrosion resistance: It exhibits excellent resistance to a wide range of corrosive media, including nitrides, carburizing atmospheres, water vapor, and combustion products.
Easy to fabricate: Compared to some higher-grade nickel-base alloys, Inconel 601 offers excellent cold and hot working and weldability.

Critical Processing of inconel n06601 plate

Cutting: It can be performed using plasma, water jet, or laser cutting. For thin plates, shearing is also possible, but requires the use of high-hardness tool steel tools.
Cold Forming: Inconel 601 plate has a high work hardening rate. Cold bending, stamping, or spinning require high forces, and intermediate annealing may be necessary to restore the material's plasticity and prevent cracking.
Hot Forming: Hot forming is commonly used for forming complex shapes or thick plates, with temperatures ranging from approximately 850-1150°C. Hot forming significantly reduces the material's resistance to deformation.
Welding: Inconel 601 has excellent weldability. Common welding methods include tungsten inert gas welding (GTAW/TIG), metal inert gas welding (GMAW/MIG), and metal arc welding (SMAW). Suitable welding consumables are recommended, such as ENiCrFe-3 or AWS A5.14 ERNiCr-3. Welding requires cleanliness and the use of appropriate fixtures to control deformation and dissipate heat.
