SS 316H is a high carbon version of 316 austenitic stainless steel. UNS S31609 has better creep strength at temperatures up to 500°C-800°C due to the high carbon content (0.04%-0.10%). ASTM A240 TP316H also has excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion and is suitable for use in chloride-containing environments.
