ASTM A240 UNS S32750 (Alloy 2507) is a super duplex stainless steel grade with a PREN value between 40 and 43. It has better resistance to stress corrosion cracking and higher strength than austenitic stainless steels. It has better resistance to general corrosion and chloride stress cracking corrosion than the standard duplex stainless steel alloy 2205 (S32205). The high chromium and molybdenum content makes it extremely resistant to uniform corrosion by organic acids such as acetic and formic acids. SS 2507 vs. 904L

ASTM A240 gr S32750 has better corrosion resistance than stainless steel 904L in dilute sulfuric acid containing chloride ions.

 

UNS S32750 Plates Heat Treatment

2507 should be solution annealed at temperatures between 1880°F [1025°C] and 2060°F [1125°C], followed by a water quench.

 

2507 Plate Welding

UNS S32750 plate has good weldability and can be welded by gas tungsten arc welding, shielded metal arc welding, plasma arc welding, flux-cored wire welding, or submerged arc welding.
