SS 317L Sheet is a low carbon, corrosion resistant, austenitic stainless steel. Alloy 317L's increased chromium, nickel, and molybdenum content outperforms conventional 304/304L and 316/316L grades, providing improved resistance to chloride pitting and general corrosion. ASTM A240 UNS S31703 Plate resists up to 5% sulfuric acid concentrations at temperatures up to 120°F (49°C). AISI 317L Plate has excellent resistance to highly concentrated solutions at temperatures below 100°F (38°C).
