Manufacturing Process of s32100 sheet
- Melting and Continuous Casting: Melting is performed using an electric arc furnace (EAF) and argon oxygen decarburization (AOD) process, with precise control of the chemical composition, particularly the ratio of carbon and titanium.
- Hot Rolling: After heating, the slab is hot-rolled in multiple passes to the desired intermediate thickness.
- Annealing and Pickling: After hot rolling, solution annealing (heating to over 1000°C followed by rapid cooling) is required to dissolve carbides and achieve a uniform austenitic structure. This is followed by pickling (typically using a nitric-hydrofluoric acid mixture) to remove surface oxide scale.
- Cold Rolling (Optional): Cold rolling is performed for products requiring thinner gauges, smoother surfaces, and higher strength.
- Finishing: The slab undergoes a final secondary annealing, pickling, and various surface treatments depending on customer requirements.

Stainless steel 321 plate corrosion resistance
- Resistance to intergranular corrosion: This is its most notable characteristic, making it particularly suitable for welded and hot-worked components.
- High-temperature performance: The addition of titanium also enhances the material's resistance to high-temperature oxidation and long-term strength. S321 can be used continuously at temperatures below 800°C, with intermittent service temperatures up to 900°C.
- Mechanical properties: It exhibits the high toughness, ductility, and moderate strength typical of austenitic stainless steels.
- Workability: It can be cold worked, stamped, and stretched using standard processes. Its work hardening rate is similar to that of 304.
- Broad corrosion resistance: Similar to 304, it resists attack by the atmosphere, fresh water, foods, a variety of organic and inorganic chemicals, and moderately corrosive media. However, its resistance to pitting corrosion by reducing acids and chlorides is limited, inferior to that of 316 or 317 stainless steel.

- Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) Systems: Wet areas most susceptible to corrosion, such as the absorber spray layer, demister, and outlet flue.
- Paper Industry: Equipment and piping in the pulp bleaching process (ClO₂ environment).
- Pharmaceutical and Food Industries: Demanding process steps requiring extreme cleanliness and corrosion resistance.
- Environmental Protection: Wastewater treatment, particularly for industrial wastewater containing high levels of chlorides, sulfides, or acidic components.
