S32100 Sheet High-Temperature Performance

SS321 stainless steel plate excels in high-temperature applications, retaining robust strength and oxidation resistance up to 870°C (1600°F), surpassing conventional grades like 304/304L in cyclic heating environments. Its oxidation resistance stems from the formation of a protective chromium oxide (Cr₂O₃) layer on the surface, which effectively resists scaling and degradation in air or combustion atmospheres. Additionally, SS321 demonstrates remarkable creep strength, maintaining structural integrity under prolonged exposure to temperatures between 600–800°C (1112–1472°F).

S32100 withstands general corrosion in nitric acid, organic acids, and alkaline solutions, while its titanium stabilization eliminates sensitization risks, rendering it immune to intergranular corrosion even after welding or high-temperature exposure.

Hot Forming: Heat to 1149–1260°C (2100–2300°F), followed by rapid cooling to retain corrosion resistance.

Cold Forming: Requires higher forces than carbon steel; anneal between stages to relieve stress.
