Chloride Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC): Its resistance to SCC in chloride-containing environments (such as seawater, brines, and chemical process fluids) far exceeds that of 316L and even 2205 duplex steel. The strong passive film formed by the high chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen content acts as a sturdy shield, while the duplex structure itself effectively blocks the propagation path of SCC cracks.

Excellent Resistance to Pitting and Crevice Corrosion (PREN > 40): The Pitting Equivalent Number (PREN = %Cr + 3.3x%Mo + 16x%N) is the gold standard for measuring stainless steel's pitting corrosion resistance. 2507's PREN value easily exceeds 40 (typically reaching 42-45), significantly exceeding that of 316L (~25) and 2205 (~35).

Excellent All-Around Corrosion Resistance: It exhibits excellent resistance to a wide range of inorganic acids (such as dilute sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid), organic acids, alkaline solutions, and various salt solutions.

Double Strength: Thanks to its robust ferrite matrix and solid solution strengthening by nitrogen, 2507's yield strength (≥550 MPa) and tensile strength (≥800 MPa) are typically more than double those of 304/316L austenitic stainless steels and significantly higher than 2205 duplex steel. This means that under the same load, equipment wall thickness and structural component dimensions can be significantly reduced.
