Welding Best Practices
Alloy 201 can be joined using Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG) or Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG). However, surface preparation is critical. The material must be completely stripped of lubricants, sulfur-bearing cutting oils, grease, and marking paint before heating. Exposure to sulfur or carbon residues at high temperatures will cause immediate intergranular cracking.
